Module 2: Introducing Whole Person Care to Your Institution (H4C2)

Description
In this module we’ll give you strategies and tools for talking with your institution’s administration, to share with them your vision for whole person care. You not only have to show them the evidence supporting this approach but also you will have to create, in their minds, a vision for the outcomes that will result from the change. You will need to show how whole person care aligns with national strategies for changing primary health care as well as how it aligns with the mission of your institution. We’ll also give you a way that you might need to explain how the practice of primary care is different from other specialties – not just in the types of patients or the types of illnesses, but in how this approach to care requires substantial flexibility – and therefore has to be considered in a different way.
